Christopher is an amateur dancer who has taken both group classes and private ballroom lessons with DanceXS. He’s been with the studio for around four years now – and he initially came to us via an unusual route.
“I was with another dance studio and we used to compete against DanceXS. They were our arch nemesis back in the day,” he laughs.
When he was looking for a new studio, DanceXS was first in line – and given he’s now been here for about four years, it’s clear things have worked out. “Everyone at DanceXS is great – Stefano, the other dancers. It’s like one big family.”
The million-dollar question
Christopher is 19 years old and works in car sales, so he’s great with people – and with his feet. He initially followed his sister into dancing. “I used to go along to her classes and thought it looked okay.” He’s now been dancing ballroom for seven years.
Thinking about dancers he admires, he cites Estonian champion Madis Abel… and Stefano. “I didn’t know a lot about Stefano before I moved across, but I had a lot of respect for him because of his dance titles. Then you find out that he’s really nice… and really funny. There’s always a lot of laughter.”
So what does Christopher love most about dance? “That’s the million-dollar question,” he says. “I guess it’s just the way it makes me feel. When you’re doing a routine and everything syncs… it’s a really good feeling.”
